The oldest, largest and most famous flea market in Berlin spreads out on both sides of the Charlottenburger Tor, on Strasse des 17. Juni in the Charlottenburg district. The market is an ideal destination for a fun day out, with snacks, beer, sausage stands and toilets and extensive nearby parking to carry away your loot. If you are not coming by car, the S-Bahn is the best option, getting off at Tiergarten. Side by side, Berliners and tourists explore the market for second-hand treasures, curiosities and unusual items. Among considerable junk and many antiques, vinyl records and CDs can also be found. The market is not the cheapest around, since many of the stands are run by professionals, but it remains one of the most attractive in Berlin. An arts market is located right next to the flea market.
