Look forward to going shopping

Go for a wander and discover Berlin’s endless shopping possibilities. Whether you’re looking for international designer fashion, unusual ideas in hip Berlin style or a cheap bargain, you’ll be sure to find just the thing in the shopping centres, department stores, small shops and high-class boutiques.

The largest and most famous department store in Berlin is KaDeWe on Kurfürstendamm. Here you can experience exclusive shopping over six floors. Old turns into new: you can find second-hand, vintage and upcycling stores throughout the city. You can also find bargains at the outlet stores in the city.

Our tip: Several times a year, shops in Berlin are allowed to open on Sunday too.

Discover Berlin’s shopping miles

Stroll down Kurfürstendamm or through the shopping malls at Potsdamer Platz. Discover small individual boutiques with hip fashion in Mitte. Simply wander from one window display to the next.

Unlike other German cities, Berlin does not have a central pedestrian zone. In addition to the two most famous shopping miles, Kurfürstendamm and Friedrichstraße, there are many quarters with their own individual character. We’ve created an overview for you.

The best shopping tips

A special tip: shopping in the neighbourhood

Fine delicacies, relaxed weekly markets and unusual fashion – and all of this with Berlin’s typical neighbourhood feeling. Go wandering and discover the casual fashion and original accessories in Bergmannstraße and Oranienstraße, Akazienstraße and on Schönhauser Allee. Stroll through the friendly weekly markets. In Spandau, an excursion into the idyllic countryside can be ideally combined with shopping in the old town.

Find your own unique Berlin style at the second-hand shops and vintage boutiques. Enjoy a cheese tasting at a delicatessen. Experience the unusual history of the store by chatting to the owner. Find that Indian vase that you’ve always been looking for. This is the neighbourhood shopping feel.
