Comenius-Garten

The path of life as a garden

The Comenius-Garten is a public garden designed according to the principles of Jan Amos Komenský, last bishop of the Czech Hussites and an educational reformer. Comenius was a seventeenth- century philosopher and educator who worked for educational reforms that still shape today’s education system. The tour through the garden traces the life of the man who saw the world as a school of life. Different plants represent the individual stations of the life cycle. The Comeniusgarten is full of plants that are otherwise hard to find in such abundance in urban centres. At the same time, the garden is a popular meeting place for the neighbourhood.
