Important: The Berlin WelcomeCards for the fare zone Berlin ABC are required for travel to/from Berlin-Schönefeld Airport.

The basic principle is:
with all versions of the Berlin WelcomeCard, an infinite number of children up to and including 6 years of age can travel for free.
Children under 6 years of age (a maximum of three children on ferries), prams/pushchairs, and luggage travel with the ticket holder free of charge.
A reduced fare ticket is required for each dog travelling with the ticket holder.
You will need a bicycle ticket to travel with a bicycle.

Where do I receive the guide if I have already purchased the ticket at a ticket machine?
The guide is part of the Berlin WelcomeCard offer, and is to be presented when claiming reductions. You receive the guide when you present your Berlin WelcomeCard ticket (purchased from a ticket machine) in the Berlin Tourist Infos as well as at the sales points of the BVG and S-Bahn.
Which advantages are offered by the Berlin WelcomeCard?
With the Berlin WelcomeCard ticket for Berlin AB, one person is entitled to free travel with all public transport services within the travel zone Berlin-Brandenburg, fare zone Berlin AB ( Berlin-Schönefeld Airport) for 48 hours (18.50 Euros), 72 hours (24.50 Euros) or 5 days (31.50 Euros).
With the Berlin WelcomeCard ticket for Berlin ABC (Berlin+Potsdam), one adult and up to three children up to and including age 14 are entitled to free travel with all public transport services within the travel zone Berlin-Brandenburg, fare zone Berlin ABC (including Berlin-Schönefeld Airport) for 48 hours (20.50 Euros), 72 hours (26.50 Euros) or 5 days (36.50 Euros).

How is the time of validity of the Berlin WelcomeCard 2013 calculated?
The Berlin WelcomeCard 2013 can be last purchased on 31.12.2013 before 23:59. The latest possible validation date will be 14.01.2014 before 23.59. This means that the Berlin WelcomeCard 2013 expires at the earliest on 16.01.2014 (48 hour ticket), on 17.01.2014 (72 hour ticket) or. 18.01.2014 at midnight (5 day tickets). Berlin WelcomeCards 2012 can no longer be used from 15.01.2013.
For example: Berlin WelcomeCard 2013 – valid for 48 hours: if it is devaluated e.g. on 31.12.2013 at 20:00, the validity of the Berlin WelcomeCard subsequently runs out on 02.01.2014 at 20:00.
The ÖPNV (personal public transport) ticket has to be devalued in the travel ticket stamping machine before entering the vehicle. The reductions included in the guide are exclusively valid with your Berlin WelcomeCard ticket and only after its devaluation, for two or three days. Please note: The validity of the 5 day ticket ends on the fifth day at midnight.
Who falls under the “child” category?
With all versions of the Berlin WelcomeCard, an infinite number of children up to and including 6 years of age can travel for free. With the Berlin+Potsdam WelcomeCard (fare zone ABC), up to three children can travel together with one adult, from age 6 up to and including 14 years of age.

Which areas are covered by the zones Berlin AB or Berlin ABC?
The zones A and B each comprise of the original city area, and the outer boundary of zone B is almost identical with the city border. Since April 2008, the Schönefeld Airport lies in fare zone C due to a tariff change of the transport companies. Thus, visitors of Berlin arriving from the Airport Berlin-Schönefeld require the Berlin WelcomeCard with fare zone ABC for unlimited use of the public transport services. The travel zone Berlin C stretches 10 to 15 km into the surrounding vicinity, measured from the city border. Season lines, special lines and journeys with the Deutsche Bahn are excluded.
You cannot extend your Berlin WelcomeCard AB by buying a ticket valid for the C zone.
