Schlosspark Charlottenburg
Schlosspark Charlottenburg
Feel like a king for a day
This dream can come true strolling through the spacious Schlosspark in Schloss Charlottenburg. The colourful former Hohenzollern residence offers a superb stage, on to which the beautiful baroque garden unfolds.
This spot is perfect in any weather for relaxing, playing games and just looking at the view. In summer, you can take it easy on the numerous grass areas, have a picnic or play football. There are also secluded corners in the hedges in front of the Orangerie. When it snows in winter, kids can go sleigh-riding on the Trummerberg hill at the back of the park. There’s even a children’s playground there.
The large carp pond, the fountain, the solid stock of ancient trees, the flower beds – all these make up the more classic and traditional part of this park. The mausoleum built in honour of Queen Luise, the Belvedere as well as the Luiseninsel (Luise Island) are especially worth visiting.
From the park you can stroll along the banks of the Spree to the “Großer Tiergarten” or in the opposite direction towards Ruhleben.
