Plaster-cast models of Marc Aurel and Julius Caesar
An insider's tip in Berlin-Charlottenburg, this collection of plaster casts of ancient sculptures is primarily used for research and teaching purposes for students and lecturers in Berlin. However, visitors are also welcome to explore these authentic reproductions of Classicist and Hellenist sculptures along with sculptures from the Roman and Byzantine Empire up to around 500 AD free of charge.
The collection currently includes approx. 2,000 casts of Greek and Roman sculptures. Exuding tranquillity and dignity in white, these free-standing, life-size plaster-cast reproductions give the room a very special atmosphere. Temporary exhibitions of modern art complete the programme, along with music and theatre performances, readings and lectures.
