Covid-19 test areas at the airport

There are tow Covid-19 test areas at terminal 1 of the Berlin Brandenburg airport (BER). Rapid antigen tests (40 Euros) and PCR tests (up to 89 Euros, express 170 Euros) are available.

  • Arrivals areas, Arrival 1, Level E0, opposite of Arrival 1, open daily from 7 am to 11.30 pm.

  • Test area on departure level E1 (Medicare), In the check-in hall (check-in areas 3-4), antigen rapid test only, open daily from 4 am to 11.30 pm.

Central test facility in Berlin

  • Hauptbahnhof (main station): You can reach the test center at Elisabeth-Abegg-Straße 1, by foot in sechs minutes.

  • Berlin Central Coach Station (Zentraler Omnibusbahnhof | ZOB): There is a Covid-19 test center at Soorstraße, 14057 Berlin, täglich 10 – 18 Uhr

  • Central PCR test center in the city center: ewerk, Hall C, entrance from Mauerstraße 79 (2nd rear courtyard) or via Wilhelmstraße 43.
    Open Monday to Friday 8 am - 8 pm, Saturday/Sunday 9 am - 6 pm

What do I need to bring to get Covid-19 tested?

  • You need to bring an Identification document (passport or ID card), and proof of address (applicable for German citizens).
  • Wear an FFP2 mask
  • At some places you need to show your registration, proof on smartphone is sufficient. In some cases, you can also register directly on site via scanning a QR code. At some test sites (see above), registration is no longer necessary.

How much do rapid tests and PCR tests cost?

  • Costs for antigen rapid test are up to 29 or even 40 euros, depending on the provider, for the PCR test up to 69 or even 89 euros (express tests up to 170 euro).
  • Berliners can be tested once a week free of charge (rapid test).
  • Health insurance companies cover the costs of the rapid test and PCR test if the test is necessary from a medical point of view. Please contact your health care provider if you are not insured in Germany.
