It is not an uncommon occurrence to see curious visitors searching for the city centre in vain. After all, there is not one, but three municipal opera houses here. Whether it be universities, airports or parks, extras tend to get added to the mix in Berlin. This is even moreso the case with theatres, concert halls or big open air theatres, for example. Experimental courtyard theatre productions exist alongside the pearls of high culture, while arena concerts are complemented by intimate recitals in basement clubs. It’s no wonder that more and more creative people are choosing to call Berlin home.
