Stilwerk KantGaragen

Berlin's Design Destination

Berlin’s new design centre for interior decorations inspired – also by the location: There is a six-floor parking in Charlottenburg protected as a monument.

Berlin would not be Berlin if you did not find restaurants in former convents or breweries, skateboarding tracks on airport runways, or art exhibitions in industrial halls or churches.
Berlin’s new, ultramodern centre for interior design has shifted to a six-floor, historical multi-storey car park.

From a traffic monument to design centre

The stilwerk KantGaragen with the affiliated hotel, stilwerk Hotel KantGaragen, inspire creative ideas for interior and living spaces. A large variety of stores awaits you, whose concept includes individual consultation and idea development:

  • TEBTON
  • BoConcept
  • SINGULART
  • NOODLES NOODLES & NOODLES CORP
  • Zimmer & Rohde (Sample Wall)
  • Anahita Sadighi Galerie
  • ONE House
  • Stylfest
  • THILO HERWIG PHOTOGRAPHY
  • Renson
  • Light-Colour-Art

The extraordinary experience while shopping: The store areas are located on the former spiral shaped ramp, which the architecture freaks like to call as Guggenheim ramp.

Newcomer designers and artists are currently being presented in small pop-up areas.A large restaurant area with different cuisines is planned for the ground floor.

Architecture

“The wonderful thing about the garages is that almost nothing has been changed since 1930”

Says Johanne Nalbach, who was responsible for the conversion and reconstruction of the multi-storey car park with her architectural practice in Berlin. And indeed: Parking spaces, washing station, ramps –everything has remained. Of course, the construction is also a protected architectural jewel built in 1929 and 1930 in the New Objectivity style [Neue Sachlichkeit] and has a feature of international importance: A glass curtain wall façade with delicate filigree profiles floats at the back of the parking – from the period before insulating glazing.

…and live classily right next door

Living, food and event can be celebrated in a classy way next door: The newly built stilwerk Hotel KantGaragen offers guests 61 rooms, which are characterised by timeless and beautiful furniture, accessories, lights, fabrics, and wall design.
