The Initiative for Solidarity in Theater (ISaT) invites you to a two-day gathering of lived intersectional-queer-feminist archival practices.

Based on the history of movements of marginalized groups, they aim to decenter dominant narratives in the cultural sector and collaboratively develop and expand "archives of resistance" that prioritize marginalized knowledge.

They explore how an archive can become more accessible and what gaps and conflicts have led to some struggles being barely remembered. On December 12 and 13, they will bring the archive to the theater space of Ballhaus Ost and invite colleagues and the public to engage artistically with and explore this ongoing archive.

The Initiative for Solidarity in Theater (ISaT) was founded in 2017 out of the necessity to counter persistent inequalities and discrimination in the cultural sector. It is a decentralized network that strives to operate from a critical perspective on power structures.

Additional information
Content notes:

As the individual contributions are still being developed, accessibility information and content notes will be continuously updated until the day of the event. Detailed information on the accessibility of the venue and the contributions will also be available on site at the accessibility information point. If required, the project team will be happy to answer any questions about accessibility in advance at the following email address: info@solidaritaet-am-theater.org

Access:

All parts of the event are fully accessible. There is no grandstand, but rather various seating and reclining options in the room (including beanbags and chairs). The event will take place as a relaxed performance. Visitors can leave the room at any time and come back again. In addition, part of the room will be designed as a low-stimulus retreat corner. Access Friends will be on site throughout the event to assist visitors as needed, e.g., with room orientation. Out of solidarity with disabled and chronically ill team members and guests, testing and masks are mandatory for the event (with the exception of people who cannot wear a mask for accessibility reasons and are symptom-free). Tests and masks will be provided on site—we welcome anyone who would like to support us and test themselves at home beforehand.
