Highlights among the street and folk festivals & fairs in Berlin

In summer, the whole city is drawn outdoors. Music, markets, food stalls and numerous small and large festivals beckon on every street corner. Sounding melodies resound on 100 stages throughout the city at the Fête de la Musique in June. Since 1995, amateur musicians and professionals of all styles have been thrilling audiences. At 48 Hours Neukölln, the entire neighbourhood is transformed into a large experimental laboratory for performers, bands and artists. And at the Berlin Volksfest summer, the Ferris wheel and chain carousel spin high up into the blue summer sky. The International Berlin Beer Festival in August is sparklingly fresh, with over 300 breweries presenting thousands of beer varieties on Karl-Marx-Allee. Gourmets can find out about the latest culinary trends at the Berlin Food Week in October. In addition, there are numerous smaller fairs and street festivals with music, delicious street food, colourfully decorated stalls and fairground rides.
