A theme winter

November 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and the November Revolution.
The end of the war in 1918 and the creation of the first parliamentary democracy are decisive historical events whose impact extends far beyond Berlin's borders.
An essential achievement of the November Revolution of 1918 was the implementation of a catalogue of social and individual fundamental rights, which were enshrined in the Reich Constitution of Weimar in 1919. Based on the historical events and following on from current political debates, the theme winter will be realised in the form of an extensive series of events and exhibitions. The focus of the theme winter 100 Years of Revolution - Berlin 1918-1919 is on conveying historical knowledge about historical events and their relevance for today.
