An intercultural literary-musical search for traces

The Czech-German Cultural Days take the Czech EU Presidency as an opportunity to hold the event Between Bohemia and America - a Dvořák Experiment in Berlin. Czech mezzo-soprano Lucie Ceralová will embark on a cross-genre journey with German soprano Katharina Persicke, focusing on Antonín Dvořák's romantic duets "Sounds from Moravia."

These musical treasures are framed with text excerpts from the Prague Triptych by Johannes Urzidil (1896-1970), the youngest poet in the legendary "Prague Circle" around Max Brod, Franz Kafka, Franz Werfel and others. A contrast is provided by the rarely performed melancholy autumn songs of Dresden composer Paul Aron (1886-1955).

What connects these three men? The answer to this question is given by the two artists with their piano partner Johannes Wulff-Woesten. The text accompaniment and moderation will be provided by the well-known Dresden actor Johannes Gärtner.

An event of the Euroregion Elbe/Labe. With the kind support of the Czech Center Berlin and the German Cultural Forum Eastern Europe.
