Inner emotional, mental and psychological states such as joy, sadness, fear, love, doubt or curiosity are deeply rooted in the human experience. They shape our identity and consciously or unconsciously influence our actions, decisions and relationships.

The photographic works in this exhibition are dedicated to such complex emotional states and psychological constitutions, which are often difficult to grasp and certainly cannot be depicted directly. They use various approaches to provide insights into these inner worlds: through subjective perspectives on the world, through the depiction of people whose psychological state of mind is revealed or can be guessed at in their gestures and facial expressions, and through the symbolic representation of inner worlds. In this way, they convey universal emotional states in a non-linguistic way that can be understood inter-culturally.

On display are images by members of the tunnel19 artists' group and guests: Jörg Dedering, Eva Grillhösl, Martin Kesting, Mireille Moga, Lars Wagner and Sylvia Zirden.
