Encounters with Offenders
In her autofictional book, psychotherapist Karoline Klemke tells the story of a young psychologist who works as a beginner in a clinic for mentally ill offenders.
She fails in treating patients because of her insecurity and her own history. In her encounters with murderers, pedophiles and rapists, she overcomes these limitations and balances on the fine line between understanding and confrontation. She finds no monsters, only people struggling with life, like herself.
