The Äskulap Berlin Orchestra was founded in 1964 as the Berlin Doctors' Orchestra. Originally, the ensemble consisted mainly of members of the medical profession. The musician and composer Günter Hahnefeld founded the orchestra and was also its first conductor, thereby significantly shaping its musical style for over fourteen years.
Today, over 50 active members are committed to their passion for music in rehearsals and concerts. People from a wide range of professions, age groups and nationalities come together here, united by the joy of making music together.
