After four decades, the Youth [Resistance] Museum, together with contemporary witnesses, remembers an art event that has previously received little attention. The pedestrian bridge, which stretched over 500 meters between the Lichtenberg residential area of Fennpfuhl and the Friedrichshain Samariterviertel, was considered a place of insecurity and fear in the early 1980s.

On the Friedrichshain side, the side windows were blocked off with metal plates, and many referred to the neglected structure as the "Storkower Tunnel".
On November 26, 1983, 20 young people transformed this dark place into a canvas using paint: animal motifs, human figures, trees and landscapes decorated the bridge. The SED state responded with draconian fines, and seven of those involved were even sent to prison. The investigation and prosecution were accompanied by state security. Numerous young people protested silently and illegally collected the entire fine amount of over 30,000 GDR marks.
An exhibition in the Youth [Resistance] Museum highlights this event and presents portraits of the artists, their motifs as well as a traveling exhibition with information about the events.
