Smoothin Groovin Dances want to be an alternative, a more soulful approach to universal dance music, focusing on connecting different, lesser-known musical genres from around the world, using the long tradition of techno and house as a foundation.
Their residency at Grüner Salon starts on May 10th with a collaboration with Berlin's all-FLINTA* crew BLVSH, who welcomes selectors Triqi, Hripsime and Ká alongside friends and residents TRU:L and Bogdan D.
BLVSH means blossoming, blooming, coming to life. The Berlin DJ collective was founded to promote, support and promote new FLINTA* talent. It aims to increase the visibility of women, trans and non-binary people and to encourage their blossoming in a still male-dominated clubbing scene.
BLVSH has a monthly residency at local community radio Refuge Worldwide, a monthly open deck night at the queer Pepsi Boston Bar in Neukölln, and hosts workshops and community events across Berlin for FLINTA*.
