Book premiere in conversation with Yasmin Polat
Sara Weber is a journalist, an expert on the working world of the future and was the editorial director of LinkedIn, the face of the network in Germany. In her new book, she explores the questions that are currently driving an entire generation and points out solutions that can make work better.
In March 2020, everything changed: home office was suddenly the new norm. Everyone had to digitise and transform - whether they wanted to or not. Work pushed further into the rest of life, and gainful employment was joined by even more care work. The gap between system-relevant professions and office jobs widened. Covid showed us what no longer works in the world of work.
There is not only the pandemic, floods, forest fires, inflation and war - our world is on fire, literally. And us? Burning out so as not to miss any deadlines. What the hell are we doing? Why are we doing this to ourselves? We need to think about how work can really work today and tomorrow - with a focus on justice, sustainability and people.
Sara Weber, born in 1987, is German-American and lives in Munich. She studied journalism and book studies in Mainz and attended the German School of Journalism in Munich. After working as a freelance writer, she spent five years at LinkedIn. Today she works as a media consultant, digital strategist and freelance journalist.
