Repressed Memory - How West Berlin dealt with Sites of Nazi Perpetrators.

From 10 to 29 November, the special exhibition "Ausblendet. The handling of Nazi crime scenes in West Berlin ". The exhibition was conceived by the Active Museum Association.

Address

Dokumentationszentrum Topographie des Terrors

Niederkirchnerstraße 8 10963 Berlin

The cityscape of Berlin today contains numerous memorials that commemorate the crimes committed by the Nazis. The establishment of many of these places - especially in the case of so-called perpetrators' places - was preceded by a long history of hiding and concealment as well as political disputes. The exhibition tells of this difficult process and the great commitment of individual people and initiatives for an appropriate culture of remembrance in West Berlin.
