House of the Child

In the book she tells the story of her childhood. Helga Kurzchalia grew up with her siblings in a very special place in Berlin, in the so-called “Child’s House”.
The child's house, designed by Hermann Henselmann as a residential and children's department store, was located at the entrance to what was then Stalinallee.

Life there is the starting point and crystallization point of a novel told in episodes that begins before June 17, 1953 and ends in 1965.
