Screening of projections, live commentary, talks, live music
Donald Trump's inauguration once again makes it clear to us: anti-democratic and illiberal forces are on the rise all over the world. On 23 February, the day of the federal election, a lot is also at stake in Germany: the result will be challenging for all those in Germany who are committed to a progressive, inclusive and plural democracy.
It is foreseeable that there will be plenty of reasons for anger, bewilderment or sadness on election night. Therefore, we want to come together and fear, scream, cry, discuss, laugh, hope, drink and dance together – and thus show: We fight for a plural democracy, and we will not give up – neither before nor after the election.
The House of World Cultures (HKW) invites you to a public screaming session on 23 February to follow the first projections, results and post-election statements together. There will be live commentary in front of the audience, there will be elephant rounds, live music from the Berlin hip-hop band The Swag and plenty of collective emotions.
The HKW calls on people to take action and fight together for a pluralistic democracy! Every voice, every discussion and every contribution counts in taking a clear stand against exclusion, right-wing violence and anti-democratic tendencies.
