A book presentation with a reading by the author

Robert Leichsenring reports on Potsdam in the 80s: from the decay of the baroque houses to the new prefabricated concrete tower blocks, exciting stories unfold that go far beyond the usual image of the Prussian royal residence. He will be personally presenting his new book at the Potsdam Museum.

‘Potsdam: Photographs from the 80s’ takes a unique look at the contrasts of the city, where people moved between two worlds and created their own spaces with charm and creativity.

The profound and often surprising photographs offer a refreshingly different view of Potsdam. A fascinating reading experience for anyone looking for something special beyond the usual clichés and interested in the hidden secrets of one of Germany's most historic cities.

Robert Leichsenring has been interested in the history of his native Potsdam since he was a child and works as a tour guide here. He was curator of the exhibition ‘Potsdamer Linien. DDR-Alltagsfotografien von Werner Taag 1949– 1989’ at the Potsdam Museum.
