With her exhibition in the royal bakery, Petra Lottje brings romance into play with 3 drawings centred on a horse and working people, awakening memories, possibly longings and bringing our romantic notions of past working worlds to life.
In Petra Lottje's abstract and at the same time concrete drawings, individual attributions such as facial features or attributes of personality are erased. For spontaneous moments captured in the moment, Petra Lottje finds formulations of timeless validity.
Born in 1973, the artist works primarily in the media of drawing and video. She completed her degree in Fine Arts at the Braunschweig University of Art in 2005 as a master student of John Armleder. She has lived and worked as a freelance artist in Berlin since 2006. Lottje has exhibited nationally and internationally.
