Galerie-P6-Berlin presents the first solo exhibition of the artist Paul Andre Gardner in Berlin PAULAROID: A Colourful Journey by. It focuses on the versatility and openness of his artistic work. Gardner's works, similar to the colourful snapshots of Polaroid photos, capture moments of life from a queer perspective.

Gardner's art is strongly influenced by his life's journey and different phases of his life. He originally trained as a chef in the UK with a focus on patisserie, where he began to contrast ingredients with colours - a practice that transferred from the kitchen to the canvas.

Inspired by his visits to the coast of his hometown of Ramsgate, his impressions of morning walks by the sea flowed into his work. Gardner was fascinated by the colourful sails of the yachts reflected in the water, as well as by bright seaweed in the rock pools at low tide and the shimmering rays of sunlight on the wet sand. This vibrant palette of colors, enhanced by the crashing waves, is what he has captured in his artwork.

Gardner's insatiable curiosity about people and places has taken him to Venice, New York, Toronto, Thailand, Australia and Marrakesh, where he lived for a time. The impressions of these travels - combined with his passion for colors and textures - are reflected in his works, which capture life in intense colors and allow the viewer to pause amidst the hustle and bustle of the world, like snapshots of a Polaroid picture.

The exhibition PAULAROID traces Gardner's creative journey and reveals the different facets of his work. The works presented in the Galerie-P6-Berlin are not only an expression of his life's journey, but also of his encounters with the many colors and impressions he has collected along the way. They show how art can enrich life and create a peaceful retreat. Gardner's works are windows to moments and moods - a celebration of the joy of life on canvas.
