25 years ago it was the expectations of the reconstruction and new construction of Berlin that led to the creation of the photo series "That's how it looked". The photographer used a strictly disciplined self-timer method to create an objective series over this period of time.
The shots were taken with a Hasselblad camera on a tripod, and the photographer had eight seconds after the shutter was released to take the pre-determined position in the subject.
A b/w negative roll film with ASA 100 was used for the photographs.
The images were taken over a period of about five years (circa 1998-2003).
Particularly noteworthy is the use of the self-timer technique, which can be considered an early form of today's selfie.
