You can simply spontaneously decide to attend a concert in the Philharmonie during your lunch break, and it's even free. This is possible every Wednesday between September and June at 1 p.m.

The program lasts 40 to 50 minutes and offers a variety of chamber music, piano pieces and drum duos - everything from Tchaikovsky to tango. Members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra or the Karajan Academy often appear, as well as guests from the German Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin or the Berlin music academies.

As can be the case with a lunch concert, catering is available from 12 p.m. until shortly before the concert begins, which is both high quality and inexpensive.
