LECTURE SERIES ABOUT 128 YEARS OF THEATER AM SCHIFFBAUERDAMM

The Theater am Schiffbauerdamm, built by architect Heinrich Seeling, opened on November 19, 1892 with "Iphigenie auf Tauris" by Johann Wolfgang Goethe. On the occasion of its 128th birthday, a series of lectures on the theater's eventful history will be launched.

To kick off the series, theater scholar Dr. Wolfgang Jansen will speak about the years 1892 to 1944, followed in December by a lecture on Brecht by Prof. Dr. Matthias Warstat of the FU Berlin, and in January Holger Teschke will talk about the history of the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm and especially the Berliner Ensemble since 1945.
