Guided Tours in the Marzahn Mill

Experience how up to 100 years ago grain was milled into flour, how the everyday life of a miller looked like and how the enormous force of the wind drives the manifold wooden wheels in the mill. Here you can experience mill romanticism in its purest form.

Address

Bockwindmühle Berlin-Marzahn

Hinter der Mühle 4 12685  Berlin

Bezirksmuseum Marzahn-Hellersdorf (ehemalige Dorfschule)

Alt-Marzahn 51 12685  Berlin

In 1815 Christian Friedrich Krüger built his first own marzahn windmill in the middle of the village. Although it survived both world wars, it had to give way in 1978 during the times of the GDR to the construction work for the large housing estate Marzahn. A few years after the fall of the Berlin Wall between November 1993 and May 1994, today's mill was built. It is a replica of the first Marzahn windmill and was inaugurated in May 1994 with a windmill festival.

Here you can experience mill romanticism in its purest form. Take the chance to take part in this quite enjoyable adventure and let yourself be guided through the mill!

Learn about the history of cereal cultivation, learn about the origins of today's food, prepare dough and bake delicious biscuits in the mill!
