Play by Fabienne Dür
GELBES GOLD tells of Ana's return to the supposedly familiar, a return to the place of childhood: a prefabricated housing estate between the highway and the railroad tracks, which is about to be demolished and where her father still lives and works: against time and in search of the perfect recipe for French fries. The planned short visit becomes a longer and longer one, although in the city the great career, the better, freer life seem to be waiting.
The planned short visit turns into a longer and longer one, even though the big career, the better, freer life seem to be waiting in the city.
Fabienne Dür studied scenic writing at the UdK Berlin. "Gelbes Gold", which she developed as part of the Leonhard Frank scholarship at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, sensitively tells the story of people whose lives take place away from great expectations, from careers and the thousand possibilities of the big city.
