The choir of the Kreuzkirche performs in cooperation with the Knabenbenchor Berlin Gabriel Fauré's "Requiem op.48 version avec petit orchstere, 1889".

The Requiem was written in a long composition process between 1887 and 1900 in different versions. The present reconstruction of a "version with small orchestra" presents the work for the first time not in a mixed version, but in a unified form from 1889.

The program also includes

Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine, op. 11, and his late work "Trio for Piano, Violin and Violoncello in D Minor, op. 120," performed by award-winning pianist Eri Mantani together with Tsuyoshi Moriya on violin and Ruiko Matsumoto on violoncello.

Performers:

  • Chiyuki Okamura-Riem, soprano
  • Philip Lüsebrink, baritone
  • Eri Mantani, piano Tsuyoshi
  • Moriya, violin Ruiko Matsumoto, violoncello
  • Orchestra Kreuz+
  • Boys' Choir Berlin (cond. Karl-Ludwig Hecht)
  • Choir of the Kreuzkirche Schmargendorf
  • Conductor: Sachiko Meßtorff
