Four important cemeteries are located on Liesenstrasse in Berlin-Mitte. Even today, one can find numerous artistically valuable graves and buildings here, as well as the final resting places of famous personalities such as Theodor Fontane, hotelier Lorenz Adlon and circus director Paul Busch.
The construction of the Berlin Wall right across these cemeteries partially destroyed them and caused them to fall into a slumber. To this day, they have not adequately returned to the city's consciousness, but for that very reason breathe a special atmosphere.
