All Quiet on the Western Front

The shocking anti-war drama was awarded 4 Oscars and 9 prizes at the German Film Awards. Film scholar Irina Vogt presents the gripping story of the young soldier Paul in the First World War in the new German film adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque's world success.

Screening in German

The novel was published in 1928 and was translated into 26 languages in the same year, with estimated sales of 20 million books worldwide.
Numerous copies were destroyed when the books were burned by the National Socialists.

Filmed first by the USA in 1930, this new film adaptation shows a German view of the events.
