As a pupil of Robert Campin, Jacques Daret learned his craft alongside the great Rogier van der Weyden. Unlike his celebrated colleague, however, only a few of his works have survived.

Martin Hanßen presents his altarpiece for Sint-Vaast Abbey, completed in 1435. Like no other work by him, it testifies to the painter's great skill and the success of his artistic vision.

A "Who's Who" of art history awaits you in one of the most important museums of European painting from the 13th to the 18th centuries. The weekly tour focusing on individual artists offers an entertaining and inspiring overview of the Gemäldegalerie's collection.
