On Friday, October 21, Mauricio Nader will play an innovative concert where the beautiful sound of the electric bass meets the famous work of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Mauricio Nader is a bassist and composer from Chile and has been living in Berlin for more than three years. He has just released his new solo album: The Complete Cello Suites by J. S. Bach, played on the six-string electric bass. Mauricio surprises with a spirited and sensitive interpretation of the masterpiece. This is the first time in music history that the suites have been recorded entirely on the electric bass. As a basis for the recording, Mauricio has transcribed the scores for electric bass to make the work accessible to other bassists.
The concert will consist of a selection of movements from the suites as well as Latin American repertoire and Mauricio's own compositions, all arranged for solo electric bass to bring the audience closer to his native culture and musical message.
