Scandinavian Sounds - From Sweden to Norway and Finland

Pianist Maria Lettberg dedicates the third of four piano afternoons to the most famous works of Scandinavian composers. Edvard Grieg, Jan Sibelius, Wilhelm Peterson-Berger and Erkki Melartin are masters in making their compositions evoke the vast Scandinavian landscapes and images of nature while listening to their music.

Maria Lettberg was born in Riga, grew up in Sweden and now lives in her adopted home of Berlin. With her complete recording of the piano works of Alexander Scriabin, Maria Lettberg caused a sensation in 2007 and became internationally known. Since then, she has performed at an international level in concert halls from New York to Saint Petersburg. In 2018 she was nominated for the Grammy Award in the category "Best Classical Instrumental Solo".
