Theaterhaus Jena / Wunderbaum
An acting collective wants to create an evening in the Thuringian province that will be noticed as intensively as possible across the region. After a lengthy discussion, they decide to use a real incident as the basis for their piece development: In 2023, a choreographer smeared a critic with dog excrement, which was hotly discussed in the media for weeks. But the rehearsals become a real ordeal for everyone involved.

“The Dog Excrement Attack” plays offensively with the real and the fictional - developed in the collective at the Theaterhaus Jena, the scenes described could well have taken place in this way or something similar. Told in pseudo-documentary form, the enthusiastically acting ensemble gives a highly entertaining, self-ironic and clever insight into the structures of the art and theater scene.
“Anyone who has even the slightest insight into the rehearsal process at the theater will laugh themselves silly...unfiltered, merciless, funny and clever,” wrote the Süddeutsche Zeitung about the production/work, which was invited to the 61st Berlin Theatertreffen and the 41st Heidelberger Stückemarkt.
In addition, the author collective of “The Dog Poop Attack” was awarded the 3sat Theater Prize 2024 and Nikita Buldyrski was awarded the Alfred Kerr Actor Prize.
