Solo exhibition

Delia Jürgens' solo exhibition REFLECTIONS shows works by the artist from the group of works Fragmented Landscapes (2018 to 2021) under the title "The Future is but a Second away - WALD". The forest motif, charged with art history, opens up direct references to Romanticism.

The forest is a space for discourse and a place of intensive sensual experiences. In the case of Jürgen's works, it is a matter of a remembered, visually represented perception that is actually reproduced in the exhibition space. The works, with their specific tactile qualities, are aimed precisely at the interface between offline and online experience.

In this context, it is interesting that Jürgens, in addition to using paraffin and glass – materials that are used more industrially – also included working with carpets with domestic connotations in her repertoire.

Delia Jürgens, born in Hanover in 1986, lives and works between Hanover, Cologne and Los Angeles. She studied at the Braunschweig University of Art and at the Hanover University of Applied Arts and Sciences. Her work is shown in national and international museums. In 2018 she was awarded the Sprengel Prize for Fine Arts by the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung and the Sprengel Museum.
