On the International Day against Violence against Women, November 25th, WILMA, in collaboration with the Soroptimist International Club Berlin-Charlottenburg and under the patronage of Katrin Lück, the equal opportunities officer for the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, is once again sending a strong message against violence against women as part of Orange Day 2023.
The main aim of this campaign is to raise awareness of the issue of violence against women, to promote sensitivity and to identify options for help. The highlight of Orange Day 2023 will take place in the pedestrian zone on Wilmersdorfer Straße and will include an extensive awareness campaign from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Together with the Soroptimist International Club Berlin-Charlottenburg, WILMA employees are making a clear statement in the pedestrian zone. What is particularly striking is the oversized telephone number for the BIG hotline, which is drawn onto the asphalt by street artists using orange street chalk.
Orange Day 2023 starts with various information offerings. Under the motto "Read The Signs" in the pedestrian zone in front of WILMA, attention is drawn to the signs of a toxic relationship. The Soroptimist International Club Berlin-Charlottenburg, employees of WILMA and the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district distribute bicycle saddle protectors and stress balls with the inscription #teamviolentfei, as well as flyers offering help for women who have experienced violence. Police prevention officers are available to provide advice about the police as a contact point for those affected. In addition, street artists decorate the pedestrian zone with the number of the BIG hotline in conspicuously large numbers.
