On Sunday, September 10, 2023, you can experience the premiere of the "Culture Festival in the middle of Potsdam". From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. you can expect hands-on offers, guided tours, readings, lectures, demonstrations, exhibitions and visits for visitors of all ages at various cultural locations in the city. Behind the scenes or in the open air, exciting insights and new perspectives are offered.

In connection with the "Holland in Potsdam" campaign - a joint project of over 20 cultural institutions - numerous activities are dedicated to the Dutch influences on architecture and art in the state capital of Brandenburg. The cultural picnic on the Alter Markt from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. is particularly noteworthy.

Residents and guests have the opportunity to sit down at a long table with the cultural actors, accompanied by live music and stimulating conversations with old and new acquaintances. Tablecloths, seat cushions and flowers - everything needed for a cozy get-together - can be brought along, as can food and drinks you have brought with you. The local restaurateurs, including the Café Central in the Old Town Hall and the Café in the Barberini Museum, offer a wide range of delicacies and drinks for every taste.

The cultural actors in Potsdam's center organize the cultural festival in cooperation with the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg. The choice of date for the first cultural festival was not accidental. Most of the items on the program are also part of the parallel free events of "Culture for EVERYONE", initiated by the KINDER(ar)MUT office of the AWO district association Potsdam e.V., as well as the "Day of the Open Monument", which is celebrating its 30th birthday nationwide this year celebrates.
