Collective photography exhibition

The exhibition Cadavre Exquis invites you to a performative unveiling of their latest series of images: 29 photographs, created in a playful collective process, will be presented at the AFF Gallery in Berlin.

The unique concept combines poetic mechanics with collaborative creativity and inspires you to discover and rethink associations and start conversations.

What is Cadavre Exquis?

The process, conceived by André Breton and the Surrealists, is based on a simple but ingenious idea:

  • one person starts with a free photographic contribution and passes it on to the next person in a predetermined order.
  • Each participant responds to the contribution within seven days – as freely or associatively as they wish.
  • The response is passed on to the next person, until a series of 29 connected photographs is created.
  • What makes it special: until the opening, the artists only know their own works and the immediate template, but not the complete series.
The Cadavre Exquis collective combines avant-garde approaches with community and openness.
