Around the Lichtenrader village pond

Art and wine share many similarities: both tell fascinating stories, are the subject of little discussion, bring people joy and are lovingly made by hand.

This bond is the reason for the association Family and Friends e.V. from Berlin to bring together winemakers, wine connoisseurs, artists and art lovers.

This opportunity will be available at the beginning of May during this year's spring counterpart of the autumnal wine and wine festival from May 3rd to 5th, 2024 at the picturesque Lichtenrader Dorfteich under the motto "ART meets WINE". The event promises art, wine and lively live music.

For three days from midday to evening, visitors can leisurely stroll along the stands of the art mile, exchange ideas about grape varieties and art movements and toast to a unique culture of encounters with special wines.

Around 40 potters, fashion and jewelry designers, painters and other creative people present their works, provide insights into their work and offer their handmade works of art for sale.

This is the perfect opportunity to enrich yourself with unique artifacts and to delight yourself or other loved ones with original originals.

The audience is also entertained by extraordinary musicians who mingle with the guests and master special instruments with virtuosity.

A special highlight of "ART meets WINE" is the presentation of winegrowers and winemakers from Germany and neighboring countries who present their vine art in Berlin.

There is always something new and tried and tested to discover. For example, the Leonhardt winery from Brandenburg will be represented at “ART meets WINE” for the first time and will also offer wine tastings and tours of the winery itself.

But there are also long-standing exhibitors, such as five family wineries that have been enriching the Family & Friends markets for 30 years.

In addition to art, wine and culinary delights, musical entertainment is also not neglected. Extraordinary musicians mingle with the visitors and create an atmospheric atmosphere.

The duo “The Clothesline Phon” impresses with soulful singing, virtuoso trumpet playing and an original bucket bass. Equally impressive is the mobile rock'n'roll band "Krüger Rockt!", which provides musical entertainment around the village pond with its mobile sound system.

The innovations also include the Matteo Braidot winery from Italy, which brings an Italian lifestyle to Lichtenrade, as well as the Odenwälder wine cooperative, which presents its wines from the smallest German wine-growing region, the Hessische Bergstrasse.
