art:berlin - The french Berlin

In the footsteps of the Huguenots

"Muckefuck" - that is a very thin coffee, as everyone in Berlin knows. What is far less well-known is that these strange language mixtures originated from the Protestant Huguenots who fled to Berlin. The French called "mocca faux" a coffee broth stretched with vegetable extracts.
