Movie night for the 90th anniversary of Johann "Rukeli" Trollmann's boxing championship fight with Gizem Aksu

The boxer Johann "Rukeli" Trollmann (1907 - 1943) won the German championship fight on June 9, 1933 in the Kreuzberg bock beer brewery. Only a few days later he was stripped of his title again - National Socialist "Gleichschalt" and exclusion also took place in sport.


As a Sinto, Johann “Rukeli” Trollmann was racially discriminated against and humiliated by the National Socialists. In June 1942 he was deported to the Neuengamme concentration camp and murdered there on February 9, 1943.

The FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum shows the film "9/8fight41" by the artist Gizem Aksu followed by a discussion.
