Berlin's new 658 square metre LEGO Store pulses with the unique energy of the capital. In a tribute to the city's street art scene, the graffiti-etched walls of Berlin are reproduced throughout the entire store, but with LEGO elements and that sense of humour and playfulness so typical of the LEGO Group. The LEGO company has revisited icons such as the famous Berlin Wall graffiti depicting the East German Trabant car, a 1:1-scaled reproduction requiring 239,124 bricks. Store visitors can also discover another Berlin landmark, the LEGO version of the Brandenburg Gate, which took 2,400 hours to build, using a total of 521,405 bricks.
The new LEGO Store offers more than just the famous sights of Berlin. Europe’s largest Pick & Build Wall offers both small and tall builders the chance to express their creative construction techniques with a whole array of LEGO bricks and elements in various styles, sizes and colours. Plus, the Minifigure-Me-Scanner gives every visitor the chance to see what they would look like as a LEGO minifigure.
