We have put together our top 11 events for this fantastic weekend.
Tip 1: Ascencion Day

Tipp 2: PEACE x PEACE - Your Voice For Children
The PxP Festival, Europe’s largest benefit concert for children, will take place on 1 June to mark International Children’s Day. Artists and bands like Gentleman, Silbermond and Fettes Brot will entertain the audience at Parkbühne Wuhlheide. The proceeds will go to children’s emergency aid and education projects.

Tip 3: Environmental Festival at the Brandenburg Gate
The Straße des 17. Juni between the Brandenburg Gate and Großer Stern will be transformed into Europe’s largest ecological adventure mile at the Environmental Festival. Around 250 exhibitors will showcase everything to do with the environment, nature conservation and environmentally-friendly mobility. In addition, there will be delicious food and bags of fun for children at theatre performances, quizzes and romping in the hay.

Tip 4: Performing Arts Festival
The Performing Arts Festival features all kinds of performing arts: theatre, dance, acrobatics, puppet theatre, cool performances and much more. Go on a journey of discovery through Berlin’s independent cultural scene at various large and small theatres and meet cyborgs, robots or Adam and Eve.

Tip 5: Asparagus Festival at Breitscheidplatz
At Breitscheidplatz on Kurfürstendamm, we pay homage to our favourite vegetable: asparagus. Whether classic dishes with schnitzel, boiled ham, browned butter or hollandaise or new and creatively combinations, you can enjoy asparagus in all its variations. Because what would spring be without asparagus?

Tip 6: „New York, New York“ - New York in 80 Films!
The cinema Babylon is celebrating the city that never sleeps, screening 80 great films that bring New York to life, with all of its diversity and contradictions. The films range from classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Manhattan and West Side Story, to The Godfather, Raging Bull and The Devil wears Prada.

Tip 7: Better used Markt at Potsdamer Platz
Upcycling at its best: you can browse through second-hand fashion, fine antiques, creative home decorations and cool vintage fashion at the Better Used Market at Potsdamer Platz. You’ll surely get your hands on one or two new (old) pieces at the 80 stands around the Potsdamer Platz train station.

Tip 8: Klassik OpenAir at Jagdschloss Grunewald
The romantic Grunewald hunting lodge nestled in the forest and almost 500 years old, is the perfect backdrop for this “midsummer night’s dream”. Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's music and Shakespeare’s dialogues resound in the castle courtyard, which is transformed into an Athenian forest full of elves, goblins and enchanted lovers.

Tip 9: Gustave Caillebotte
Gustave Caillebotte was a patron of impressionism and a painter. His most famous work Paris Street; Rainy Day (Rue de Paris, temps de pluie) now adorns the wall of the Alte Nationalgalerie on Museum Island. The impressive work from the Art Institute of Chicago will be exhibited in Europe for the first time since its restoration in 2013. The exhibition is also dedicated to Cailebotte’s role as a patron and promoter of impressionism.

Tip 10: Children’s Festival at the Kulturbrauerei
On the Sunday after Children’s Day, the big Children’s Festival will take place at the Kulturbrauerei. Fun and games are on the programme with theatre, concerts, discovery tours and exciting adventures. And the grown ups will be treated to delicious food at the street food market.

Tip 11:Cactus Days at the Botanical Garden
Cacti, agaves, yuccas and other succulent plants will display their prickly beauty at the Berlin Cactus Days. The show presents the full diversity of the cactus world with its thematic beds in the new greenhouse of the Botanical Garden Berlin. Experts are also at hand to provide free advice.
