
Finally spring has really begun. The cherry trees bloom soft pink, and the first green appears everywhere. And so we look forward to the beer gardens and cafés in the sunshine - and of course to many exciting events this weekend. We've put together a few tips for you.
Cherry blossom festival
"Hanami", "Beotkkot Chukje" and "Shang Mei": The Asian gardens welcome spring on Sunday. The cherry blossom festival offers the perfect start to the season with Asian music, colourful robes and delicious food. And of course the cherry trees adorn themselves with pink flowers.

Tree blossom festival in Britz
The trees are also in bloom in Britz - and the big folk festival is on the rise. The colourful merry-go-rounds, roller coasters, beer garden and concerts on the festival grounds are ready for an excursion until Sunday. On Saturday, fireworks will paint bright colours on the evening sky.

Velo Berlin
The cycling season finally begins with the first rays of sunshine. And it starts with the VELO Berlin Bicycle Festival. For the first time, the festival will take place in the former Tempelhof Airport. There it shows the very latest bicycle trends in four areas: Urban & Lifestyle, Sports & Adventure, Bike & Travel and Testival. Afterwards you can pedal and cycle to the next event.

Airport night run
On Saturday you can run the Airport Night Run, the 4x4 and over 10 km on the BER grounds - or cheer for the runners. The 12th edition of the course crosses the illuminated area on the southern runway along illuminated buildings. The destination is the new terminal.

Dialoge – Wirbel
25 years of dance: The company Sasha Waltz & Guests celebrates its anniversary "Dialogues - Vortex" at RADIALSYSTEM V. On four evenings dancers and other artists and companions come together for a dialogue between dance and music and show why the company is one of the most important and innovative in contemporary dance.

And for all cineasts, film lovers and moviegoers among you there are several film festivals this weekend.
achtung berlin: new berlin film award
More than a local insider tip, achtung berlin is now achtung berlin. The festival shows new German cinema from Berlin and Brandenburg. Feature and documentary films are shown, including medium-length and short films. On Friday evening the festival party will start at 10 pm at Roadrunner's Paradise Club with music by DJAne Anxiuos G and DJ Moon walka. On Saturday you can get deep into Berlin's nightlife, because the movie "Night Out" takes you on an exciting trip to the KitKatClub! Before that, on Saturday, the video bus tour departs from Babylon to current original locations for the festival films. Participants tell about the shooting and thus give a unique look behind the scenes.
Punk Film Festival - Too drunk to watch
Punx Not Dead! It gets wild and dangerous at the Punk Film Festival. Around 20 films about punk, including music videos and documentaries, are shown in the Moviemento cinema. On Saturday there will be live acoustics in the cinema with Merle befor the screening of the film "Das Gegenteil von Grau".

9th ALFILM - Arab Film Festival Berlin
Fascinating insights into the Arab world and Arab cinema are offered by the ALFILM Arab Film Festival at Kino Arsenal in the Sony Center. Lectures and discussions round off the programme of feature films and documentaries.

The Ufa - History of a brand
And another film tip: the exhibition "The Ufa - History of a Brand" at the Museum für Film und Fernsehen - directly above the Arsenal cinema will only run until 22 April. The exhibition shows film excerpts, costumes and photos from 100 years of Ufa, Germany's largest film studio. From the great silent films to the propaganda films of the Third Reich to today's productions, you will not only learn a lot about Ufa, but above all about German (film) history.
