Summer and being outside simply belong together. So it's only logical that we move everything to the fresh air - be it theatre, shopping or concerts. But there is also a lot going on indoors. We've picked out the best the weekend has to offer for you. Here are our weekend tips with the 11 best events and tips in Berlin.

Tip 1: Opening Deep Web

Sound expected and finally there: Deep Web. Light artist Christopher Bauder and musician Robert Henke present a monumental audiovisual installation at Kraftwerk Berlin. The old industrial building has a very special atmosphere. Let yourself be carried away into the world of sounds and lights. On four days there will even be a live performance of animated light lines and multidimensional sounds.

Tip 2: Opening day of the James Simon Gallery

On Friday, the James Simon Gallery will be officially opened - Chancellor Angela Merkel will take this over personally, as the gallery is after all the future "gateway to Museum Island". The action day will take place on Saturday - then everyone can visit the new James Simon Gallery. There will also be a varied programme.

Tip 3:  Opening "Ways of the Baroque

For tip 3 you have to go to Potsdam, but we think it's worth it. On Saturday the new exhibition "Ways of the Baroque" opens in the museum.

Here you can admire 54 masterpieces from the collections of Palazzi Barberini and Corsini. Among them is the painting "Narcissus" from 1589/99, one of Caravaggio's most important works.

When: from Saturday, until 6th of October

Tip 4: P!NK Beautiful Trauma World Tour

P!NK is coming back to Berlin. The fans have been looking forward to this summer highlight for months. Under the open sky of Berlin she plays the best hits of her long career in the Olympic Stadium. And who knows P!NK, knows: There is always a spectacular live show. So: Get the Party started!

Tip 5:  The Black Image Cooperation

The photo exhibition "The Black Image Cooperation" focuses on two photographers: Moneta Sleet Jr. and Isaac Sutton. Their photos are characterized by a powerful visual language and show Black Female Power. The exhibition deals with Afro-American codes: Clothing, social structure, forms of beauty and much more. You have to hurry a bit, because this exhibition closes in two weeks.

When: until 28th of July

Tip 6: Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet open air

We love summer the most because we can move everything outside - even the theatre. In Charlottenburg, a new open-air theatre is to be built: the Globe Berlin - a round wooden theatre modelled on Shakespeare. But until then, the ensemble will show you what it can do in its 2019 prologue season. This weekend you can see "Romeo and Juliet".

Tip 7: K-Pop by Monsta X

K-pop fever has broken out: The South Korean boy band Monsta X plays a show in Berlin. It is the only one in Germany. On their We are here-world tour they introduce you to their two latest albums. The band is especially known for their choreographies and the mix of Hip Hop, Electro, Dance and Pop. There are still tickets available.

Tip 8: Kreuzberg Tomato Festival

Already for the sixth time this weekend the Kreuzberger tomato festival takes place in the Kiez. More than 40 varieties of Uckermark tomatoes will be presented and all sorts of tomato delicacies will be prepared: the homemade tomato sausage is also part of it.

Tip 9: Tour 2019 at the UdK Berlin (University of the Arts)

It would be hard to imagine Berlin's summerwithout a tour of the University of the Arts. Every year at the end of the semester, Germany's largest artistic university shows its workshops, studios and rehearsal rooms for three days. You can go behind the scenes of all four faculties: Fine Arts, Design, Music and Performing Arts. Find out what will move the artists of tomorrow.

Tip 10: Summer Vintage Kilo Sale

Vintage clothes at a kilo price - if that doesn't sound like a bargain. In the Else beer garden you can shop open-air on Saturday and enjoy the summer feeling. There will also be something delicious to eat. Just the thing for flea market fans and vintage lovers.

Tip 11: Bike tour on the Wannsee Babelsberg Route

By bike to the Glienicker bridge

Only last month the Wannsee Babelsberg Route was opened and is therefore still brand new. It leads along the Wannsee and the Havel - you could stop for a swim, admire castles and visit places steeped in history. So get to know the southwest of Berlin by bike.
