Oh, Merry Christmas! On the second Advent weekend you can get in the mood for Christmas at one of the many Christmas markets, get Christmas presents of a special kind or relax from the first hustle and bustle at a concert! We'll tell you what's going on in Berlin in the weekend tips.

Tip 1: Christmas markets

It's Christmas time in Berlin, and the variety of Christmas markets is huge! This weekend we are especially looking forward to the traditional Christmas markets like the 46th Alt-Rixdorf Christmas Market. Here you will find arts and crafts in front of the contemplative backdrop of the old Bohemian village. The supporting programme for children with the three orphans from the Orient and a fairytale house is also special.

When: 7 - 9 December
Where: Richardplatz, Neukölln

The 17th Fairytale Christmas Market at Grunewald Hunting Lodge enchants visitors with its Advent atmosphere directly in front of the castle. In addition, fairytale figures such as Frau Holle or Cinderella ensure that children's eyes glow.

Where: Jagdschloss Grunewald, Hüttenweg 100, Zehlendorf
Tickets: 3 Euros/ reduced 2 Euro (including castle tour)

Tip 5: Berlin TV Tower

What better way to start the day than with a breakfast over the roofs of Berlin or a wonderful panoramic view over the city with a fantastic sunset and the many Christmas lights? One thing is for sure, a visit to the television tower is always worthwhile

Tip 6: John Cale und Orchestra

All rock music fans watch out: John Cale, one of the most influential musicians in rock history, will play with his orchestra at the Verti Music Hall on Saturday! It's worth being quick. There are still tickets available!

Tip 7: Museum Island

If you are looking for a warm alternative to the Christmas markets this weekend, you can pass the time on the Museum Island. An absolute highlight is the "Pergamonmuseum. The panorama" of Yadegar Asisi. In a 360° panorama of Yadegar Asisi, visitors go on a journey through time and discover the ancient city of Pergamon. .

Tip 8: Winter sports

Sport is a lot of fun in the Berlin winter! For the classic sport, tobogganing, we have to wait for the snow, but until then we take our skates and visit one of the many ice rinks. The big outer ring in the Horst-Dohm-Eissatdion inspires young and old. Ice skates can be rented on site. If you prefer to be active indoors, you can climb in the BergWerk Berlin or play a round of golf in the Indoor Golf Center.

Christmas at Grandma's and Grandpa's: memories come back! On the second weekend of Advent, Christmas "the good old days" will be the focus of the Wuhlheide Leisure and Recreation Centre. Baking, handicrafts and games are the order of the day. Until 23 December, every weekend has a different Christmas motto.

A castle, festive decorations and traditional Christmas music: the Advent concert in the Great Orangery Palace Charlottenburg is ceremoniously opened on Sunday.  The audience can look forward to a contemplative evening. Singing along is welcome!
