Berlin's restaurants and cafés are open again from Friday. From 6 am to 10 pm you can enjoy what Berlin's gastronomy has to offer. For those of you who can't wait to eat out again, we have put together a selection of our favourite restaurants. For those of you who prefer take out, we have also put together a selection of restaurants that will continue to offer home delivery and takeout options. Either way: please check the website of the restaurant of your choice in advance. Enjoy!

Before you read any further, here are the new rules and precautions:

  •  Opening hours are from 6 am to 10 pm
  •  Guests from different households must keep a minimum distance of 1.5 metres between them
  • Food and drinks may only be offered and consumed at the tables, self-service is not permitted
  • it is recommended to make a reservation and to wear a face mask

For a quick overview of what else is already open and what is (still) closed in Berlin, just have a look at visitBerlin.de.

Tip 1: Engelbecken

Everyone in the area around Lake Lietzen knows it: the Engelbecken is also known for its creative and varied cuisine. With its inviting terrace, it will be open for you again from Friday. In addition to regional and ecological dishes, some forgotten fruit, herbs and vegetables are an important part of the menu. The pick-up service and the meanwhile beloved bread sale are still available for you.

Where: Witzlebenstraße 31, Charlottenburg

Tip 2: Il Calice

Fine Italian cuisine. Wine culture. Upscale ambience. You can enjoy all this again on site. With pleasure in the restaurant or with a picnic blanket on Walter Benjamin Square. And the delicious cooking boxes and take-away will also remain with you. Please go to the website for reservations and note the new reservation times.

Where: Walter Benjamin Platz 4, Charlottenburg

Tip 3: Ristorante Piccola Cantina

A pearl in Mariendorf. Also the small and fine Italian restaurant is open for you again. It not only shines with its excellent cuisine and captivates with daily changing seasonal dishes but also with its friendly and courteous service. A reservation is recommended in any case.

Where: Schöneberger Straße 16, Kreuzberg

Tip 4: Books & Bagel

What an ingenious combination: The Fine Bagel shares the shop with the bookstores Shakespeare and Sons. This also means for you: you can enjoy books and bagels together on site again. The café opens on 15 May for a cosy lunch break. Check the website to see which books are currently available and which bagels you can choose from.

Where: Warschauer Straße 74, Friedrichshain

Tip 5: Beba

With the Gropius building, the Beba also reopens. The spacious, bright museum café welcomes you in the usual manner with Israeli specialities and American cakes. Infarmer salad, fresh herbs, tapas with delicious sourdough bread and much more awaits you again from Friday.

Where: at Gropius Bau, Niederkirchnerstraße 7, Mitte

Tip 6: Barfly

The barfly is also back. With homemade cheese noodles, tasty burgers and juicy steaks - the cosy café is looking forward to welcoming you. And: All dishes on the menu are available again. We no longer deliver, but of course you can still order and pick up your own food. A reservation is recommended.

Where: Brüderstraße 47, Spandau

Tip 7: Love Burger 100 % vegan

The name says it all. Inspired by people, cultures and travel, Love Burger offers you the most delicious vegan burgers. Exotic flavours and spices are combined with local and seasonal products. Enjoy one of the excellent organic wines, a smoothie or homemade lemonade. Please check the website and make your reservation in advance.

Where: Treptower Straße 90, Neukölln

Tip 8: DogTapBerlin

The Brewers of Brewdog have held the fort for you and are now opening the doors for you again. Make yourself comfortable in the brewery in Berlin, located in the middle of the Mariendorf gas works area. The historic building from 1901 is a real gem. The vintage arcade games and the shuffleboards will remain closed for the time being, but the beautiful beer garden and the spacious restaurant await you with the usual selection of pizza, burgers and wings and countless types of craft beer, some of which are produced in the brewery itself.

Where: Im Marienpark 23, Tempelhof

Tip 9: Hallmann & Klee

Breakfast, lunch menu, coffee and sweets - no matter what time of day you decide to visit Hallmann & Klee, you will enjoy it at any time. The urban ambience with organic products will offer you fresh and regional dishes again from 16 May. Please reserve tables in advance via the website.

Where: Böhmische Straße 13, Neukölln

Tip 10: Gazzo

This is the motto of Pizzeria Gazzo: craftsmanship through and through, using local products when available, but in any case always sustainable, natural and delicious. Just looking at the menu will make your mouth water. For details about the reopening, please check the website or visit Instagram.

Where: Hobrechtstraße 57, Neukölln

Tip 11: RosaCaleta

Friends of the Caribbean cuisine can be happy, the doors of the Jamaican restaurant RosaCaleta will also open again on May 15th. In the lovingly furnished restaurant you can expect a wide selection of meat and veggie dishes as usual, in addition to good reggae music. During opening hours you can still order dishes to pick up and in May you can also have dishes delivered by our own delivery service.

Where: Muskauer Straße 9, Kreuzberg

Please act responsibly ...

  • keep the required minimum distance and observe the respective hygiene regulations.
